About the Event
Hi Pack Leaders!
I have developed an Off Leash course designed to teach your dog to be off leash and under your command. This course is designed for families that want to provide off leash experiences in nature like hiking trails, camping trips or park excursions.
In my years training dogs off leash, the three most important commands I use are:
-
“HERE” - getting dogs to come when distracted.
-
“LEAVE IT” - getting dogs off a distraction and focused on you
-
“WITH ME” - getting dogs to follow you off leash and walk with you off leash
Handlers will teach their dogs to respond to these commands using low levels of eCollar stimulation AND longline to guide and motivate your dog. I recommend Dogtra IQ Plus for most dogs, Dogtra IQ Mini for small dogs. You must purchase the eCollar.
What we cover: Solid off leash recall, Leave It, and With Me commands with real life scenarios.
Prerequisites: Your dog must have already taken my group classes or privates with me in order to qualify for this course. Your dog must already be able to walk on a loose leash and obey the recall command with low to medium distraction.
This is NOT for doggies with aggressive behavior. I offer private sessions to address aggression to enable you and your dog to participate in group classes. Dogs must be at least 6 months old, in good health and fine with other dogs and people.
What is required from you: Have an open mind, be willing to put in the work and have fun. Family members are welcome as long as there is one primary handler that is committed to coming to all the classes. Children must be under your control.
